“Brexit Vote” The most trending hashtag today. what is it all about?
Britain had a referendum to remain or leave the European Union on Thursday and Friday the 23rd and 24th of June.
52% of the voters voted “leave” and Britain is officially out of the EU.
Of course the internet creates something for this and created the brexit and brexit vote hashtags but what is more important are the long term consequence that might be faced.
It should be understood that this is a British matter and what happened is pure democracy, but was democracy the right way to approach such a complex matter?
It is hard for the average human being specialised NOT in politics to comprehend all the information and consequences about exiting the Union. This is why, some have the opinion that in such complex matter, those chosen as leaders of a country should be able to make such a decision.
The consequences are yet to be seen, so we should not paint it all black, but it is suspected that the British citizens will lose quite a bit of the privileges they have in Europe.
The main dilemma:
Is this going to start the domino effect for the European Union?
And to top it all off, this article from The Washington Post proves devastating search by the Brits on search engine platforms. Did they even know what was happening?
